Chapter 16
Chris turned around and gazed his university. This day, he is saying goodbye to his school, to England, and to his love. He went to see Tristin but she didn’t let him in her room. She was too mad of him that she cannot forgive him for leaving her in sadness. He crashed her dreams. To simply put it, he put an end to the meaning of her life. Tristin heard the knocks from her door. She heard Chris calling for her. But she cannot let him in. It hurts hearing his voice saying goodbye, but it would hurt more if she saw him. Seeing his tantalizing eyes that she immediately fell in love with is tormenting knowing that these eyes are also saying goodbye to her. Chris hated himself for making Tristin’s life miserable. He would rather sacrifice his own happiness for the sake of others. But he forgot that he is also sacrificing Tristin’s happiness. He realized how egotistic he is after visiting Tristin and not opening her door for him. She closed her life to him. Chris thought that if he helped other people happy, it might make him happy. Might make him happy. These words buzzed through his head. He thought about it, will he really be happy after the sacrifice he have done? Or will he dread to remember this event because he wasted to be with the love of his life? He may see the happiness in other people’s lives but not in his. But he cannot turn back and change everything he’s done. Chris will go on his choice. He will help raise the family whom he grew up with. He will help them in making their lives peaceful and not to live in poverty. Chris went inside the cab after putting his luggage to the cab. He is going to the airport to catch the earliest flight going to France. Goodbye. Goodbye, England. Doux adieu, Tristin. Chris couldn’t stop the tear that fell from his eye. This is a sad reality, and he want to escape from it as soon as possible. He cannot bear the painful regret in his heart. It tears him apart and the wounds of melancholy can hardly be cured. Chris arrived the airport and was able to catch up with the flight. He wanted to leave the country. He wanted to put the past behind him and forget about it. Going to England isn’t the cure of his love for Tristin, it just worsen it. Labels: Chapter 16, Summer to Remember
