“There will be a ball this Saturday evening.” The Duke said when they eating their supper. All of them except the Duke stared at their food blankly. “You look shocked. Is there any problem?” “No, Father. There isn’t.” Marie replied curtly. The Duke looked intently at his daughter and his guests.

After they finished eating, the young went out to the porch again. This time, Marie was nicer to the Prince. They walked together, and the Prince led the way. Marie watched his resplendent look and admired how handsome the Prince is. But she shoved away her thoughts because she doesn’t want to be infatuated to the Prince.

“Are you ready for the ball, your grace?” Sebastian asked courteously. “I am always ready.” Marie replied and smiled sweetly. Sebastian cannot help but beam at her. When Marie saw the Prince smiled for the first time, her heart skipped a beat.

The sweet curve on his lips is spectacular. His eyes were sparkling brightly. He looked spectacular. His cynical features on his face were wiped off and pleasant features took over.

Sebastian caught her staring at him and asked, “Is there something in my face?” “Oh, no.” Marie said as she gasped for air. “There is none.” “Well, then.” Sebastian smirked. Marie rolled her eyes and sat.

Stephen saw that Marie seems to be charmed by his cousin’s alluring features. He decided to talk to her privately.

“What is the problem, Stephen?” Marie asked curiously. “’Intimidation is good, enamor is not.’” Stephen quoted. “I said that.” “Yes, you did.” Marie looked at him and said, “Is there any problem with that line?” “Oh, nothing. You said it, and it seems you are already falling in love.” Stephen replied, and added, emphasizing each word, “With my cousin.”

Marie tore her gaze from him and sighed. “Is it that evident?” She asked apprehensively. “For someone who knows you intimately, yes.” Stephen replied. Marie stared at him anxiously, and grinned. “It’s embarrassing.” “No, it is not. It is likely to happen, anyway.” “It is embarrassing, Stephen! I said I would not like him, and yet, I did.” Marie snapped and grinned. “The moment I saw you two dancing this afternoon, I know this will happen.” Marie looked at Stephen and sighed. “Please do not tell him! Please.” “Of course. I think he likes you, too. He said he’s interested in you.” Marie looked at him, very anxious what to hear next. Stephen looked at her mockingly. Marie closed her eyes and giggled. “Let us go back before Sebastian thinks of mischievous acts about us.” Marie beamed and let Stephen lead her.
