Chapter 6
The two of them stayed at the library for already an hour. Chris was uncomfortable, knowing his first love is inches away from him. He wanted to confess to her that he is Chris and he has been waiting for this moment to arrive. The moment that they’ll meet again and they’ll be able to spend more time together. But, there is something blocking him to do that. And Chris is entirely sure what it is. It’s his ego. Chris, being uncomfortable, led him to take glances Tristin once and a while. After a few glances, he saw the ring that he gave to her in one of the festivals when she was in the town. He gave it to her as a remembrance of the summer they spent together. Chris has the pair of the ring. He wore it as a pendant of the necklace his father gave to him before his father passed away. These two jewelries are his most prized possessions. Seeing the ring in the bony finger of Tristin, Chris’s heart tightened. Tristin never actually forgot about him. She might actually keep their memories in her mind. She might recall every second they spent together under the summer sun. Or maybe not. Chris pushed away his thoughts. He decided to leave since it is the only possible way to put Tristin’s reminiscence away from his mind. He stood up from his chair and left the library alone. And his mind full of doubts. And questions. Tristin played with her ring as she watched Christian left the library. He was acting strange when they were sitting next to each other. Even if Christian wasn’t saying anything, Tristin felt there is something going on with Christian. It’s as if he want to say something, confess might probably the right word. She sensed the eerie feeling that was going on after they’ve introduced each other. Tristin remained in the library for another half an hour. She was able to finish her home works and she was able to study too. She is confident enough that she is prepared for the obstacles that teachers would give to her. She would not let herself be a shame in her classes. She isn’t trained for that kind of treatment. She was always given the best. She couldn’t ask for more. Tristin went back to her room. She needed a rest. That’s the thing she’s dying to do the moment she stepped in her first class. Labels: Chapter 6, Summer to Remember
