Chapter 8
Tristin stared blankly at the park. Her awe made her speechless. She cannot utter even a single word. “Breathe.” Christian said. Tristin turned her gaze to him and smile amiably. “Thank you so much for bringing me here.” She said. “No problem. I know you needed this.” Tristin replied him with a smile. Seeing Tristin’s smile is fulfilling for Chris. It is the only thing he wanted to see. He is simply contented with that. He felt satisfaction watching Tristin amble through the park with her long legs and perfectly contoured body. The way her hips sway gracefully and her rich brown hair bounce every time she took a step. It is one of the thing Chris enjoyed watching. “Come Christian. Let’s buy some Ice Cream.” She summoned. Christian replied with a smile and answered, “Sure. My treat.” He ran towards her and together they went to the Ice Cream booth. Christian bought two cones of Ice Cream, one for her, and one for him. They went to a nearby bench and sat. “Mm. I have never been this happy when I entered college. Oh, I feel so blissful.” Tristin said. Christian replied her with a laugh. “What are you laughing at?” Tristin asked him scornfully. “Nothing.” Tristin raised one of her eyebrows. “Nothing, really.” Christian replied and beamed. “I hate those kinds of smile.” Tristin said and turned her head away from him. “Why? What’s wrong with my smile?” “I just remember someone in my past.” She replied softly. Christian watched her and her happiness seemed to vanish. “Tell me.” He said sympathetically. “You would find it ridiculous.” Tristin replied and rolled her eyes. Christian snorted and said, “You haven’t told me yet. How will I say it’s ridiculous?” Tristin looked at Christian. Christian saw Tristin’s face and realized she was serious. “Tell me.” Tristin thought about it, then she breathed deeply and said, “I had this friend. Actually, it is very strange. You, two, almost have similar names.” Christian looked at her and gathered she may talking about him. He never thought she’ll remember him. “Really? What’s his name?” He asked. “Chris. Chris Roux.” Christian stared at her blankly and her face beaming back at him. Christian gulped. “You just have –tian, he doesn’t.” Tristin added as she watched a couple of little kids playing around. “We met three years ago. It was summer. I had a vacation in France, and I was wondering by my Grandfather’s field when he arrived. He said he was hiding from his mother. It is actually funny because why would someone hide from their mother.” She said while playing with feet. Christian was gaping at her when she was talking about him. She actually never forgot about him. She kept their memories together. He could not believe it and his feelings for her are flooding back again. “Why are you staring at me like that?” Tristin said and about to laugh. Christian shook his head and gained again his posture. “Nothing, I was listening to you. Very intently.” Tristin grimaced, and smiled eventually. Christian looked at her and asked, “Is he that important in your life?” Tristin looked at him. She doubted if she’ll answer his question but since she already talked about it, she decided to answer it. “Yes.” That single word was the only word Christian needed to hear. After hearing it, all of his doubts and questions were answered. That word affected him too much that he wanted to spend the time with her every second of every day. “He must be very special.” Christian said. “Yes, he is.” “He sure is a lucky man.” Christian said and smiled. Tristin grinned back at him and gazed the sky. Christian watched her and felt lucky and very special. Labels: Chapter 8, Summer to Remember
