Chapter 19
Sorry people. I am mistaken. I posted the wrong Chapter. This is the actual chapter 19! Since I owe you this one. I will post two chapters today. Chapter 20 & 21. Enjoy! Chris froze as his eyes stared straightly to Tristin. His heart tightened as he saw that her hand was caressed by a young man. His live for her should end because Tristin found the man she wanted and would love her endlessly, and will not leave her like the way he did. Chris turned around and leaned at the librarian’s counter. “Do you understand me, miss?” the librarian said to Tristin. “Miss?” she repeated. “Oh, yes, madam. I am so sorry for the disturbance.” “Okay. Now, I can leave you two.” Tristin was basically distracted by the man who standing at the counter. His eyes were the same, the shape of his face was the same, but the sparkle of his eyes is different. It took long before Tristin realized it was Chris. He is more formal now. His hair looked great with a shade of blond in it. His face looked matured, but still the handsome contours can be seen. And his eyes! Oh his eyes, his eyes shone like jewels in the night. Tristin never expected this. She stood up told her boyfriend that she want to greet her old friend. She stood up and walked towards the counter. “Chris?” Chris turned his head and saw Tristin’s face right next to him. “Oh, hello Tristin.” “Chris.” She repeated. “If you’re just going to repeat my name over and over again, I guess I should leave.” He teased. “No, don’t. How are you?” Tristin said. Her voice was soft, and she looked pale, as if she’d seen a ghost. “I am fine. I had an appointment with an entrepreneur who is interested to have partnership with me.” “Oh, really? So, the company is going well.” “Indeed. My granddaughter’s grandson doesn’t even need to work in the future. I have worked enough that the next four generations of my family can live.” “Wow Chris. You are very successful already.” “It is worth the sacrifice.” “Oh crap. Why did I say that?!” Chris thought. He should have not said that. It is so wrong. His nervousness made him say that. “Sacrifice. Right.” Tristin said and sadness was seen in her eyes. “Anyway, I have to go. I need to study for an exams and…” “Go ahead, Tri. I will still read some proposals and I’ll be back to France before you knew I was here.” He said before Tristin could continue. He bowed his head and bid goodbye. It is happening all over again. Tristin watched the doors of the library swung open and close. She let him leave her again for the rest of her life. She can’t stay with his boyfriend like this. It’s been four years but her love for him never changed. She ran back to her table and took her things. Her boyfriend was asking her what’s wrong and she replied, “Nothing. I just realized I don’t love you anymore.” She took off before her boyfriend was able to catch up with her. She ran to her room and cried. Chris walked in her life for a couple of minutes, and left within seconds. She loved him earnestly and she could not replace him. Chris ran to his car and immediately took off. He needed to be away in this university, memories will flood and it will leave a terrible mark in him. He couldn’t go on living like that. And he has to move on. Has to move on.Labels: Chapter 19, Summer to Remember

Chapter 18
4 years later “Flight 691 from France has just arrived.” It has been four years since Chris stepped the lands of England. He breathed the English air and filled his eyes with English sights. It seems to be an eternity since he was here, when actually it has just been four years. Chris successfully ran the company. He actually made the company wealthy and even his future grandchildren’s grandchildren can live without even working. He made the whole Roux family rich and happy. His sacrifices are rewarded. He is happy seeing his relatives happy, but he cannot deny that he felt utterly lonely at point or another. His cousin actually brought him to blind dates but he himself declines. He never forgot about his promise. The promise he kept four years ago. He will never replace Tristin in his heart. He loved her no matter what. And four years passed, but the memories in his mind are still fresh and vivid. Chris walked hastily out of the airport to go on his meeting. He has an appointment with one of the known entrepreneurs in England who became interested in the company Chris is handling and would like to arrange some arrangements so that the Roux’s company will be international and will have more income. “Good Morning, Mr. Roux. I am happy you answered my request.” Mr. Collins greeted as he motioned Chris to the chair. “It is my pleasure, sir.” Chris replied curtly. “You might find me very intruding, but you look young.” Chris grinned at his remark at him. “I am young, sir. I am still Twenty three.” “Twenty three? And you’ve managed the big company?” “Yes, sir.” “How old are you when you started handling the company?” “Nineteen.” “Nineteen? Very impressive, Mr. Roux. How about your studies? Do you go to college?” “Indeed, sir. I finished my degree this year.” “I haven’t expected this but oh well, let’s talk to the business.” Chris spent two hours talking with Mr. Collins and his agenda for the meeting. Mr. Collins was deeply impressed by Chris’s intelligence and his ability to manage a company that is so big in a very young age. Chris liked the proposals of Mr. Collins and may actually reconsider it. Mr. Collins likes Chris and he wanted to have Chris in his company. “I will study again your proposals, sir, and if I don’t have any problems, I will contact you and we will sign the deal.” Chris said as he shook hands with Mr. Collins. “I am really looking forward to have a partnership with you, Mr. Roux.” Chris smiled and left. Chris wanted to go back to his college university. So, he asked his driver to drive him to the university and he will visit the university he called home when he was still in England. It took thirty minutes before he arrived at the university. He went out of the car, buttoned his tuxedo and arranged his tie. He looks so handsome in his tuxedo and very formal. People’s first impression is that he is a businessman, they are partly right because the right thing to say is that he is a CEO of a big company in France, and the President, as well. As he passed the hallways, the eyes of the students were on him. Some of them might recognize him and some of them stared at him with awe. His handsome face looked mysterious and amiable at the same time. Ladies whispered to their friends and gossip about him, while the men stare blankly at him. Chris decided to go to the library and visit the librarian who became a very good friend of his when he was still studying there. He brought with a coffee and sandwich as a gesture of gratitude for her. He entered the library smoothly and immediately saw her. He gave her the gift and chatted with her. A loud laugh burst out at the back of him and all the students of the library hushed the laughter. “Excuse me first Chris. I need to remind them that this is a library, not playground.” “Of course. Suit yourself.” He replied and followed her. Chris tried to see who was laughing. But it was too late, he saw her, she saw him, and their gazes were locked. Labels: Chapter 18, Summer to Remember
