Prologue
Prologue“Do you really have to go?” Chris asked sadly. “Yes, I just went here for a vacation. Then, I’ll be back to London in a month.” Tristin replied. “Can you stay a little while longer?” “I can stay here with you until tonight.” Tristin said and smiled. On a mid afternoon of July 4, 2005, Tristin was wondering by the fields of her Grandfather and decided to lie down, for she was exhausted. Minutes later, a boy came running and told her to keep quiet. Tristin was appalled by the behavior of the boy. “Merci.” The boy told her after a long silence. Tristin immediately realized that he was French. “Who are you? And what was that all about?” Tristin replied furiously. The boy gazed at her and gathered that she is not a resident of the town and she isn’t French. “My name is Chris. I was hiding from my mother.” He replied with a smile. “Why would you hide from your mother?” Tristin questioned. “I escaped.” “Escaped?” “Stop with all the questions. Who are you?” He answered bitterly. “My name is Tristin and this is my Grandfather’s farm.” “Oh, you are the granddaughter of Monsieur Nicolas, eh?” “Oui.” She replied. “Well then, Welcome!” He answered happily. This marked the beginning of their friendship. August 7, 2005, Tristin would be leaving and go back home. Chris and Tristin have been the best of friends since their first meeting. Now, Tristin would be waving goodbye to the person whom she called her friend and her companion for the past month. “Goodbye Tri. This is the summer holiday I will always remember.” Chris said. “I will, too, Chris. It is good to have you as a companion over the past month.” Tri said. Chris planted a kiss to Tri’s forehead. “Goodbye, Papi. Goodbye, Mamie.” Tri said as she kissed her grandparents on the cheek. “We will miss you, little one.” Her grandma said. Tri smiled and started to walk to the Check-In counter. “Tri,” Chris called “goodbye.” He gave Tristin’s first kiss. Chris pulled away and smiled. He ran back to her grandparents, and together, they waved goodbye to her. To be continued Labels: Summer to Remember
